Why vote Bill Pfifer for Johnson County Sheriff?

I will not request or accept any pay raises during my tenure as your Sheriff.

I adamantly oppose the construction of a new 60 million plus dollar Sheriff's administration building at taxpayer's expense.

Under my proposed plan, criminals incarcerated in the Johnson County Jail will be required to reimburse taxpayers for their jail stay. I want to send a strong message to criminals. "If you commit crimes in Johnson County, YOU will pay, NOT the taxpayers.

Utilizing new technology, I will implement an emergency warning system to notify county residents by text message, email, cell phone, pager or home phone of emergency situations or disasters.

With the possible merger, or incorporation of White River Township, the next Sheriff will have to do more with less. I have plans and solutions for these critical issues.

I will increase the forensic capabilities of our agency to combat new and ever-changing crimes involving technology.

A Tradition of Life in Public Service

I come from a strong family background of dedication to public service. My father, Thomas Pfifer, was a retired Navy veteran of World War II, Korea and the Naval Reserves, retiring after 30 years.

He worked for the Johnson County Highway Department, the Johnson County Parks and Recreation Department and for Franklin College of Indiana.

My mother, Joan Pfifer has been employed with Johnson County government since 1977, working in the Johnson County Court, Johnson County Auditor's Office, Superior Court # 2, Johnson Circuit Court. Presently, she has come out of retirement again and is working in Johnson Superior Court # 1.

My brother, Richard Pfifer, is the chief probation officer for the Johnson County Adult Probation Department and formerly was the superintendent of the Johnson County Highway Department.

My wife Pam is also a deputy serving the Johnson County Sheriff's Office as a courthouse deputy. She also has worked in the Johnson County Jail as a corrections officer, a court bailiff in the Johnson County Juvenile Court and as assistant matron under former Jail Matron, Connie Pritchard.
